       Comments: Greetings fellow swabs!
My name is Wayne Durfey, son of Willis E. Durfey who was stationed on
board the FDR in the late 40's. He was a trumpet playing member of what he
called "The best band in the Fleet". As I grew up, I heard all the sea
stories a boy could want and when it was getting close to Draft time in
'70, I thought it better to enlist so I wouldn't have to go to Vietnam. I
susequently spent 3 years off the north coast of Nam at Yankee Station on
the USS Hancock CVA-19. ( Please feel free to visit our web site!) Anyway,
I'd like to know if any of your old salts might remember him? He still
going strong and we get together all the time "scuttlebut". My
congradulations on a web site well done.
